As a Pan-African Christian leader, my hope and calling are to reconnect, reconcile, and resource Black and African people through Pan-African heritage, faithful stewardship, and God-centered solidarity. I pursue this mission through the I AM BLACK Ministry, of which I am the founder and leader.

My ELCA Journey

From my roots in Pentecostalism to becoming a “Luthercostal,” my journey with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has been both inspiring and transformative. Through my studies at Luther Seminary, mentorship from exceptional ELCA leaders, and pastoral formation at Augustana Lutheran Church, I have embraced a call to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament. My calling is to shepherd God’s people by integrating the gifts of my Pentecostal and Lutheran theological heritage through attentiveness to the Holy Spirit, scriptural depth, vibrant worship, public witness, ministries of peace and justice, and diverse, cross-cultural ministry.

I am a husband, father, pastor, and theologian who believes that God transforms lives through grace, community, and faithful service. My journey from Ghana to the United States has broadened my understanding of the church and deepened my commitment to walking alongside people from diverse backgrounds with humility, compassion, and hope. Whether preaching, teaching, mentoring, or building bridges across cultures, I seek to help people encounter Christ, grow in faith, and discover their God-given purpose. I believe ministry is not only about proclaiming the gospel but also about listening well, serving faithfully, and loving people where they are.

Theological Foundations for Pan-African Christian Leadership

The gospel of Jesus Christ continually reminds us that God’s gift to the world came wrapped in vulnerability—a tiny, fragile child who took on our humanity and entered history not from the halls of power or the palaces of kings, but from the margins. This places every follower of Christ under holy tension, inviting us to ask who is not represented, welcomed, or seated at the table, for Christ is often found beyond the gates of Herod’s palace. My vision for Pan-African Christian leadership is rooted in the conviction that the gospel calls the Church to faithful stewardship, reconciliation, and the flourishing of the whole body of Christ. I believe the Church is enriched when Black and African voices, histories, cultures, and gifts are fully embraced—not only because they broaden our theological imagination, deepen our worship, and strengthen our public witness, but also because they remind us that the body of Christ flourishes when every member is valued and every culture has something to contribute.
